At Croft Church of England Primary we believe that all children have an equal right to a full and exciting education which will enable them to achieve their full potential.

The pupils with SEND in our school are provided for within the class by adjustments to work, resources or teaching methods. Whilst we strive to be as inclusive as possible, we recognise that in order to achieve their potential, there may be times where children require different strategies, teaching styles or learning provision. The Headteacher, SENCo, teachers and support staff work with parents and outside agencies to ensure the best approaches possible are used in order to support children with SEND.

We are committed to raising the aspirations of and expectations for all pupils, including those with SEND.

Our school commits to:

  • Identify and provide for pupils who have special educational and additional needs;
  • Work within the guidance provided in the SEND Code of Practice 2014;
  • Provide a SENCo (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator) who works within the SEND Inclusion Policy;
  • Provide support and advice for all staff working pupils with special educational needs;

If you are concerned about your child, please do not hesitate to contact the class teacher in the first instance, who will happily discuss your child’s progress and ways in which you can help your child at home.

Accessibility Plan

As a school we have stated that we are committed to ensuring that the school is accessible to all pupils. To ensure we follow through with this statement we have created an Accessibility Plan and an Accessibility Action Plan. These are found below.

Admissions Policy

Our admissions policy can be found on the Key Information section of our website. If a child has an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) then our SENDCo will meet and plan with the family and any outside agencies involved in advance of the child’s admission.

Avoiding Discrimination

As as school we understand our duty to ensure all pupils have equal access and to avoid discrimination for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities. We make certain that every child’s individual needs are met by making practical adjustments.

Complaints Procedure

As a school we understand the importance of every decision in relation to a child’s education and so make these decisions with the child’s best interests as our priority. Therefore, we understand when parents/carers raise their concerns regarding their child’s individual needs. This policy can be found on the policies section of this website.
