Croft Church of England Primary School is supported by its Board of Governors.
Governors work closely with the headteacher, members of staff and children to ensure that the school continues to grow and go from strength to strength.
What is the Governing Board?
School governors provide strategic leadership and accountability in schools. It is governors who hold the main responsibility for monitoring finance in schools, and it is governors who work with the headteacher to make the tough decisions about balancing resources.
Individual governors do not act independently of the rest of the governing board; decisions are the joint responsibility of the governing board.
Meet the Governors
Dr Yvette Goward (Chair)
Learning has always been an important part of my life, and I really enjoy being able to understand what is around me, at ever greater depth. I want to be able to help others share that enthusiasm, especially children. In my learning journey, I have gained a BSc in Genetics, and a PhD in Biochemistry. I currently run a manufacturing biologicals laboratory that supplies health care researchers, and diagnostics companies around the world.
With my family, we train, drive and show heavy horses in agricultural vehicles. I learnt beekeeping at school, and have kept bees ever since then. I hold an HGV class I licence. I read a wide range of writings, and attend live theatre whenever possible.
I have two children who have attended Croft School. I was elected as a parent governor in 2014, and have in the past been appointed Chair of the Strategic Development Committee. I am currently the Chair of Governors. My endeavour is to ensure that every child obtains the best possible experience of, and outcome from, Croft C of E Primary School, and is ready for their next steps in life.
